Simon had an interesting upbringing and I enjoyed how he worked through it and let Eliza into his past. I can’t wait to read more of this series and see what else the Dove sisters get up to.

This conclusion to this spicy Viking romantasy was plot heavy and had a lot to pack in.
Why did Bjorn feel like he was lacking in this book? 🤔 I’m not sure exactly what it is but I needed more from him. Book 1 he was 🔥 and then book 2 he dwindled down to a low flame.

Freya definitely found herself and her powers in this (as she should by now).
There were some good unexpected twists and I was overall happy with how it ended.

I think I was mad at Conor a majority of the book. Gah he has to be one of the most infuriating MMCs I’ve encountered in a contemporary romance in a while.

Two women whose sisters went missing in similar circumstances join together to find out what happened in their sibling’s final days.
Some new details come to light, suspicious people are doing suspicious things and when the final reveal came around… I’m not sure that I was surprised. It’s a short book at less than 300 pages and I felt like we could have gone a little deeper into the mystery. There were some loose ends and people that we didn’t get answers to. I kind of figured out where it was leading and overall I was left a little disappointed.

This is another murder mystery written by Crime Junkie founder Ashley Flowers.

Wow, what a kaleidoscope thriller.
Three women are connected by this one seemingly perfect man. He’s cunning, charming and ever so quick with his lies and deception. The intricate web of lies “Nick” has made starts to tangle as the women he’s conned begin to put together their connected threads.
The story is told in Nicks perspective and in 3rd person POV of the women. It was interesting to see Nick’s deranged thought process.

I’m so SO thankful to receive this ARC from Atria, Lisa Jewell is one of my absolute favorite thriller authors.

You need to read this twisty suspense novel! Preorder, place a Libby hold or add to your TBR!!

A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

Another slower fantasy book but the ending on this one?! I’m hooked.
I love Lila and how she’s an absolute bad-a*s.
Kell loves HARD for (only) his people.
And Rhy I’m starting to come around to, we will see what choices he makes in book three 🤔

I love Schwab’s slower writing style. Have you read this series?

Another emotional story by KH 😭 I loved it of course.

Winona is the oldest sister and feels the pressure to perform the best and keep the family together. Aurora is the middle sister and she keeps the peace between everyone. Vivi Ann is the youngest and undisputed favorite of the family. The cracks between them start to appear as love divides them. After a mysterious ranch hand is hired, the cracks turn to craters. When a shocking crime happens in this small town, you’ll see where loyalties lie and how this division affects everyone.

Gah I really loved Noah. How he came to be, who is father is and how he was raised because of it was the most emotional part for me.
I really appreciated the character development because I initially feared I’d always hate some of these people 🫣.

The short chapters and multiple POVs made it impossible to put this book down. I really enjoyed the twists and actually didn’t guess the ending!

Alright… I’ve finally finished the series and I have some thoughts. Ready?

Book 1 Veiled Kingdom- loved it. Easy magic system, not a lot of world building and enemies to lovers with an awesome cliffhanger at the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 2 Hunted Heir- ehhhh. A short book with not a lot going on until the last couple chapters. Smut with not much storyline. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 3 Rivaled Crown- okayyy that’s a little better. Beginning dragged a little. Then storyline picks back up and we have plot again! There were a couple of cringe moments for me but overall I think I enjoyed it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5?).

Childloss, murder mystery, old lover vs husband; this book had multiple different themes that just flowed so well together. I enjoyed the way the chapters jumped back and forth between then, now and the Trial.
Slow to build but I absolutely couldn’t put it down. I finished this book in about 4 hours 📖

Childloss, murder mystery, old lover vs husband; this book had multiple different themes that just flowed so well together. I enjoyed the way the chapters jumped back and forth between then, now and the Trial.
Slow to build but I absolutely couldn’t put it down. I finished this book in about 4 hours 📖

Supermodel Ayana is in an arrangement to marry Jason so he can get his inheritance and she can get out of her terrible modeling contract. But Jason’s best man Vuk has eyes for Ayana and can’t bear to see her walk down the aisle. She knows she should stay away from Vuk but once his past catches up to him, they have to lean on each other for comfort 😉

Good spice, suspense and tension in another Ana Huang book. She definitely knows the essential combination. I think this book could’ve been shorter and had a little more chemistry between Ayana & Vuk.

*The fact that this is the only B&N edition I have in the series so the spine doesn’t match 😭 *

The ride this went on was very unexpected. A little humor, a lot of crazy and way too many lavish events to keep up with.

She decides on a whim to accept a temporary job at Galloway Farm where her sister spent so much time all those years ago.
Once there, secrets start to unravel and when a hidden diary is found the pieces of the puzzle come together in shocking ways.

This book was slow to start for me but once she got to the farm, I was hooked! The secrets and twists were so shocking to me and I was flying through the book desperate to know more. Claire’s sister Natalie was such a mystery that even Claire herself didn’t know much initially about where she could have gone. I enjoyed how the connections were revealed and the short chapters left me on the edge of my seat so many times.

Welcome (back) to Barry’s Bay where the sun is always out and the romance is right around the corner.

This was a sweet summer romance. Alice is at the lake house for a good time and when Charlie shows up, he helps make her bucket list a reality. This was a sloooow burn for me and I was whole-heartedly cheering for them to get together.

The photos ❤️📷❤️ Alice captures sounded breathtaking, I kind of wish I could see them. I absolutely love the way Charlie says her name.

As the secrets are uncovered, you begin to wonder if anything is as it seems from the outside.

Well, I did it. I read Manacled. Let me just say, this story did not live up to the hype for me… for ME.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have so many thoughts but here’s just a few of them (no spoilers):

- This story is unnecessarily long and repetitive. There were many repeated scenes that could’ve been cut out.

- The romance did nothing for me. Malfoy was so hot and cold that I absolutely could not see how Hermione was into him. Yes, he became protective of her. But romantic? Nah. Enticing? No way. Lovable? Hard pass. Pitiable? 1,000%.

- These characters’ actions did not line up with my memory of them from JKR’s Harry Potter series. There were many instances where I felt like actions weren’t in-line with what I felt the original character would do. That bugged me.

- The ending was so so disappointing. Without spoiling anything, I think so much action was missing. I kept thinking to myself “Really?? That’s it?”.

- Finally, yes the story kept me interested enough to finish. But overall I was left feeling drained, irritated and disappointed.

I wanted to love it and fall down the fanfic rabbit hole that many people I follow did but it just didn’t hit for me. And you know what, that’s okay!! The great thing about books and reading is that it’s subjective. Just because I didn’t love it doesn’t mean it won’t be your next obsession.

Wow. This is my second book by John Marrs and I’m SHOCKED it’s taken me this long to find him. His suspenseful writing is phenomenal. I think he might have top spot for me now in this genre.
Marrs is king at keeping his reader guessing until the very end! This book in particular was a wild ride and I was hooked from the first page. If you need a thrilling suspense, read this one- right now!

Wow. This is my second book by John Marrs and I’m SHOCKED it’s taken me this long to find him. His suspenseful writing is phenomenal. I think he might have top spot for me now in this genre.
Marrs is king at keeping his reader guessing until the very end! This book in particular was a wild ride and I was hooked from the first page. If you need a thrilling suspense, read this one- right now!
